General Managers Vote 25-5 to Recommend Replay

Instant replay may finally be coming to MLB, however, only in a limited way. Yesterday, GMs voted 25-5 to recommend the use of instant replay on contested home run calls only during the annual General Managers meetings. The recommendation came out of a technology committee that was headed by Colorado Rockies General Manager Dan O’Dowd. It will be passed on to owners at next week’s quarterly meeting. It will probably meet some opposition with Bud Selig, who has opposed electronic replays that are used to assist in making calls during matches.
