A very unexpected trade off

Shaquille O’Neal, who plays for the Miami Heat may be traded to the Phoenix Suns for a forward and a guard. Phoenix is at present executing a physical and medical examination to make sure O’Neal is up to the challenge. It is a very unexpected trade, but it is set to happen, insiders are saying.

O’Neal is also said to happy to be leaving the Miami team behind and getting out of the way of Pat Riley, the head coach. He is unhappy with his coaching methods and the relationship that is needed between the two is not there anymore.

It makes no financial sense for the Suns to acquire O’Neal. He only has two years left on his contract and somewhere close to $40 million. They are hoping that Steve Nash can bring O’Neal in and get him in the shape he needs to be in to play with the Suns. Nash is a two time MVP award winner.

The problem lies with O’Neal’s health issues too. His hip has kept him out of almost 13 games this season. The Suns are hoping that he will be rejuvenated by the time the season starts. They hope he will complement the rest of the players as well.
