It came as no surprise to Purdue students when the Boilermakers won over Michigan State.  The game’s superstar, Robbie Hummel, scored an impressive 24 points Purdue (number 19) gained victory over Michigan (number 10) with 60-54 last Tuesday Feb 12.

Just two weeks ago, Boilermakers fans swarmed the court and carried Hummel over their shoulders after winning from Wisconsin (number 11 at the time).  Captain Chris Kramer remarked that they had to come to each game expecting to win.  Purdue has won its 10th straight win and has remained number one in the Big Ten.

E’Twaun Moore scored 12 points while Keaton Grant 11 points.  The Boilermakers have won more than 20 games for the second consecutive year.  Having beaten Wisconsin last Saturday, which was number 10, this is the first time that the Boilermakers has won over Top 10 teams back-to-back.

Hummel recounts what a great feeling it was, and attributes their success to team effort.  Aside from bringing in 4 of the 7 3-pointers, Hummel also made 11 rebounds in the game.

Kalin Lucas of Michigan State scored 20 points.  Raymar Morgan scored his 12 points in the second half.  Guard Drew Neitzel scored only 6 points and got one field goal
