The Indiana Pacers have been having a spree of on and off court woes. Their public relations desk has been greatly tasked to keep the positive image of the team while being overwhelmed with the negative publicity the many recent incidents seem to be pouring on the basketball club. Already the average number of fans and visitors at their home games has dropped by about 3,000 from pervious season’s figures. Apart from the on court woes the club has been plagued with off court issues. There are about five cases involving their players since November alone which have further added to their negative public image. From the five affected players only one however has been charged with a crime. The club currently stands at 14 games below .500.
The latest incident has occurred last Wednesday this time affecting their player, Gary Bohanon who is connected with a murder case in Tennessee. He was arrested just after leaving the home of team mate and forward, Shawne Williams. The club board is very worried about the frequent incidents and President of the team, Larry Bird and CEO, Donnie Walsh was quoted to have said last Thursday that enough is enough. They board is now seeking was to stem the bad publicity and show positive areas that the club could stand for.
