The Florida Panthers made their seventh consecutive victory last Sunday and are only two points away from the final play off spot of the Eastern Conference. They defeated the Thrashers 3-1 on Sunday and will meet the Carolina Hurricanes in the next game. One month ago, Panthers were not at all in the picture and suddenly they are springing up virtue of their over all improvement of the game. Olli Jokinen and Brett McLean along with Rostislay Olesz made two goals with five points. Jacques Martin, the GM and coach of Florida Panthers, said that the players are capable of defending the lead but the end is still far away.

McLean is of opinion that adding new players and the increased effort from the part of rest of the Panthers had made it possible for the team to win seven games without any defeat after a very inconsistent play early this season. Panthers believe that there is no room for errors now as only eight games are left. Their next opponents Carolina Hurricanes are also strong and have won six out of seven of their last games. So, inorder to reach the Eastern Conference, the Panthers will have to improve their game and have to be more organized
