Australian swimming sensation Lisbeth Trickett has now become the fastest woman swimmer as she broke the world record in the 50 meter freestyle finals last Saturday. Trickett achieved this feat at the Australian Swimming Championships in Sydney and clocked 23.97 seconds to beat the five year old record held by Dutch woman Marleen Veldhuis which is 0.12 sec more than Trickett’s timing. The 23 year old swimmer said that she did not have any clue that she will be able to achieve such a great feat. But she had always thought of reaching close to the target even though she felt it is a bit stiff target.
One of the greatest sports in the world, swimming, has been her passion right from her childhood and Trickett feels on cloud nine after winning the world record of the fastest swimmer for a single lap. Trickett came up with a resounding victory beating an upcoming 15 year old swimmer Cate Campbell who had aspirations of beating the record set by the Dutch woman than Trickett.
