Montgomerie lashes out at Masters Organizers

The legendary Scottish golfer and a famous sports personality Colin Montgomerie has sounded caution against the organizers for ignoring his name for the Masters golfing tournament and inviting Asian players that includes Indian origin Jeev Milkha Singh who is ranked lower than him to play at the Masters. Montgomerie said that if only he had been a person of Asian origin he would be playing at the Masters next week. He says that he did not receive any call from Augusta and is not expecting one either.

The Scottish player is currently ranked at number 75 and the cut off ranking to participate in the Masters is 50. The Asian players of the likes of Jeev ranked 80, Wen–Hong ranked 111 and Prayad ranked 93 have all been given special invitations to play the Masters and this has really hurt the world number 75 Scottish player. The Masters is the only golfing event where one has to get invited to play and all other tournaments will need a golfer to qualify for the tournament.
