David West had to not only wade off the players of the current champion team San Antonio Spurs, but also had to play with back spasms to lead the New Orleans Hornet to a 101-79 victory over San Antonio Spurs. David West knew that it was a do or die game for his team and was completely focused on the game in hand and did not worry about his back pain. West made a playoff high of 38 points, five blocked shots and 14 rebounds in the game and the Hornets lead the playoff series 3-2. The New Orleans coach Byron Scott appreciated his players for being resolute in their quest for one of sports prestigious titles, the NBA playoffs.
