The Atlanta Braves blanked the Toronto Blue Jays 4-0 in the first game of their three game weekend series last Friday. The efforts of pitcher Jair Jurrjens was widely appreciated by the Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox. The ace pitcher of the Braves was in fine form during the game, working on for eight innings and thereby took his scoreless inning streak tally to 21 2-3. Jurrjens allowed only three hits in the entire eight innings and was ably supported by slugger Mark Teixeira, who himself made a homer and had three RBI’s against the Blue Jays. The Toronto fans hoping for a reversal of fortune in the next game are buying tickets to witness the game.
