The World Baseball Classic didn’t turn out the way we had hoped for the American team. America lost to Japan, 9-4 this weekend. Now that we’re all the way to the final teams in the competition, we know who actually controls the sport. We always think of American baseball as being the best, but it’s tournaments like these that make you realize exactly what kind of makeup these teams have now. I mean, we taught them this game! But we also have a lot of foreign players on our teams. That’s not bad, by any means. They worked hard for it and it’s fun to have them (even if the names can be hard to pronounce). Here we are now, watching South Korea and Japan battle it out for the world championship of our national pastime. Nicely done.
