The Lakers were able to take Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Orlando Magic in stellar form. The Jekyll and Hyde Los Angeles team was able to bring out whichever of those is the good one in last night’s game and it was a fantastic time for everyone involved with the team. It will be fun to see the rest of this series, if the Lakers find that they are able to hold on to that intensity or if Orlando is able to bring a lot of energy back against them. Each time the Lakers take the court, it’s hard to tell what kind of team you’re going to see, because they change back and forth so frequently. The Lakers, however, have a lot to play for, specifically that they want to get rid of the memory of last summer’s big losses against the Boston Celtics. We will have a sense in the next week or 10 days where this is headed and it’s bound to be exciting!
