The women’s bracket at Wimbledon is fairly typical at the moment, where we can see that there will be a lot of similar winning players as we’ve seen in previous years. Let’s run through the quarterfinals and see if you recognize any of the names. Those of you who don’t know women’s tennis currently may not recognize the names, but this is for the rest of you. Dinara Safina will be playing against Sabina Lisicki in the quarterfinal later today. Venus Williams already won hers against Radwanska and made the semifinals. Schiavone will be playing against Elena Dementieva. Serena Williams is looking to make it back into the semifinals by winning against Azarenka. These are pretty much all the biggest names in the sport right now, so there haven’t been too many big surprises. Yesterday, Ivanovic called her game early against Venus because she’s injured. That’s been the biggest surprise so far.
