It was one of the biggest games in years for the NFC North. Intra-divisional games are always really exciting in the NFC North. This year is even moreso, because this is a very tough division. The Vikings have been on the upswing for several years, the Packers are getting better with a young quarterback getting stronger. The Bears have a new quarterback who has reinvented the offense on the team. Even the Lions are coming back to strength. Last night, the first game between Favre and the Green Bay Packers was played. In the end, 30-23 was the final score and Favre has officially beat every team in the NFL at least once. Aaron Rodgers, for his part, played a great game with 300+ yards of offense, but he didn’t get pass protection or pass catching in key situations. Got a couple of sacks and interceptions. But Favre was on his game like a laser, with no interceptions and no sacks. It wasn’t a blowout game, but it was clear that the Packers were being dominated. Green Bay might be regretting losing Favre, but they have a good QB in Rodgers, so we’ll see what happens in the next few years.
