There has been a lot of controversy over some blown calls by umpires over the course of this year’s postseason. There were some calls in the Boston series and some in a Los Angeles series. They seemed ok for some people at first, but it was instantly controversial for many people. So the MLB has made a huge step in saying that none of the umpires who will be officiating in the World Series will be doing it for the first time. They usually have one or two new umps in the Series so that there are always new faces and they will just rotate new ones in. But this year, in view of all the problems, there will be no new umps, it seems. The announcement isn’t yet official, but we’ll keep our eyes on this issue. With the final series starting next week, they will have to have their decision cemented very soon.
