Green Bay Packers Brett Favre has not asked for a reinstatement yet, and as his agent has informed the media, does not have definite plans for doing so either. The reinstatement still might happen as there is time until the sixth week of the regular season for such a move, but in the words of James Cook, Favre’s agent, “it’s their move”. When the Packers GM Ted Thompson was reached, he said Favre might be given a reinstatement if he applied, but will only come in as a backup since Aaron Rodgers has already been given the nod for starting QB in which Green Bay hopes he is for the future.

The New York Yankees were already dealing with one injury in their outfield, but now they have a second to add to the list. Johnny Damon is dealing with a sore left foot which kept him out of the lineup Tuesday. With Hideki Matsui already nursing a sore left knee, this is awful news for the Yankees especially if Damon needs a trip to the DL. While Matsui has been playing most of the year at DH, Damon’s injury doesn’t give the Yankees many options in the outfield. Damon is hopeful he just needs a few days rest before getting back in the lineup. New York has called up Justin Christian to help their depleted outfield, in which he went 2 for 4 in his Major League debut. There is no word on exactly how bad Damon’s injury is or when Matsui will be back so all the Yankees can do is be patient. Justin Christian was hitting .309 in Triple-A as well as 18-21 in stolen bases.

The Milwaukee Brewers escaped by the scruff of their neck, courtesy of a no hit in the eighth inning by Dave Bush, to register a tight victory of 8-7 over the Toronto Blue Jays last Thursday. Bush later said that he read the match situation very well and was aware that only a no hit could save the day for the Brewers. The Brewers were coasting with 8 run lead at the end of the 7th inning. Joe Inglett saved the day for the Jays in the ninth by hitting a two-out grand slam and was instrumental in the Jays scoring six runs in the ninth inning and threatening to go past Brewers. The skilful sporting display by both the teams will augur well for the ticket sales for their forthcoming games.
